Aquasonic Paragone Tablets assist in the control of most external fish parasites, including Fish Lice (Argulus spp.), Gill Flukes (Ergasilus spp.), and Anchor Worms (Lernaea spp.) in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums.
Directions for Use
-
Not for use on fish intended for human consumption.
-
Rubbing, flashing, or scratching against objects often indicates a parasitic infestation.
-
Paragone Tablets are formulated to aid in controlling external parasites such as Fish Lice (Argulus spp.), Skin and Gill Flukes (Ergasilus spp.), and Anchor Worms (Lernaea spp.).
-
This product is not effective against bacterial or viral infections.
Do Not Overdose
-
Do not use on marine invertebrates (e.g., shellfish, anemones). Remove these species from the aquarium during treatment and return only 5 days after the final dose.
-
Note: Paragone may adversely affect some species, including Plecostomus, Bristlenose catfish, and Metynnis (Silver Dollar–type fish).
Dosage and Administration
-
Use 1 tablet per 40 litres of aquarium water.
-
Fish Lice (Argulus spp.) and Gill Flukes (Ergasilus spp.):
Repeat treatment every 7 days until all signs of infestation are eliminated. -
Anchor Worms (Lernaea spp.):
Use the same treatment regime but repeat doses at 5-day intervals until all adult parasites are eradicated.-
In cooler water (20°C), treatment may be repeated every 12 days.
-
-
During treatment, maintain aquarium temperature at 25°C and pH between 6 and 7.
-
Pre-dissolve tablets in a disposable cup before adding to the aquarium. A small amount of insoluble residue may remain—this is harmless to fish. (Refer to disposal statement for disposal of materials used during treatment.)
Remember
Maintaining excellent aquarium management practices is essential for preventing disease, as many fish health issues are linked to environmental conditions. For accurate diagnosis and treatment recommendations, consult your veterinarian or aquarium specialist.
To calculate tank volume:
Multiply length × width × water level height (in cm), then divide by 1,000 to determine litres.
